Way back in March we purchased tickets to see Jack Johnson as an early anniversary present to ourselves and on Thursday night we got all cozy with the man himself and a few thousand others. Yep, there he is. The man the red shirt.

Jack played Thunderbird Stadium which is on the University of British Columbia campus. Yep, university crowd. You know, I don’t usually think of myself as old *cough* but Thursday night I was definitely feeling much older than the crowd around me. I Googled Jack’s birthday. Damn! I’m 5 years older than him! It’s all good though - we are both Aries!
Look, here is some of the crowd on the big screen.

We pretty much stayed near this big screen for the whole concert which was just to the right of the stage? See the preppy guy? With the sweater around his shoulders. I have a feeling he was feeling way more out of place than me.

This was a totally awesome crowd though. I mean really, how rowdy can you get at a Jack Johnson concert? He’s all about love and perspective and sings about good times and not so good times and, of course, banana pancakes. We all sang right along with him. It was a total lovefest.

You know, I use to be really good at finding the right path through a crowd to get in deep at center stage. Yep, being tall works well not only to see over the crowd but to move through it too. We brought our big camera with the zoom lens and I was all protective over it so we stayed comfortably close to the stage. We slowly moved deeper into the crowd as the night continued as all the over-heated bodies kept moving out.

Yeah, we were close enough. We loved it. We loved him. We bought t-shirts.

Maybe next time I see you Jack I’ll be living out one of my concert fantasies. Thanks for a great night. Call me.
